COLUMBIA, KY. (Thu 7 Jul 2016. 5:39amCT) - This morning marked the second swift water rescue call of the week at 04:30amCT, on Sulphur Creek Road, in Adair County, KY.

The response was cancelled due to the subject making safe exit himself.

I would like to remind everyone that the low lying areas are flooded. Please be mindful of flooding and no matter how safe or how many years you have travelled the roadway it is dangerous when covered with water.

Both recent rescue calls have involved subjects that had an extensive knowledge of the area they attempted to cross.

"Turn Around, Don't Drown" Protect your life and the lives of the responders that come to your aid by not attempting a flooded crossing.

Mike Keltner, Director, Adair Co. Emergency Management, 107 N High Street, Columbia, KY 42728
