Sycamore Springs: Leatherwood Creek anything but placid

Wednesday, the stream was more Tina Turner "Proud Mary" than its usually Charlie Rich "Keep Rollin' with the Flow"

SYCAMORE SPRINGS, KY (Wed 6 Jul 2016) - A person usually thinks of the song Charlie Rich made famous, "Keep on Rollin' with the Flow" when they pass the Leatherwood Creek, with its slate bottom, barely a trickle, teaming with minnows, water skippers and a good coat of algae.



The intermittent deluges of rainfall this Wednesday afternoon, Leatherwood Creek, would now put you more in mind of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."

A creek that started out "nice and slow" that turned "Rough" redirecting the water across Chestnut Grove Rd as it breached its banks . A person standing on the bridge looking down the normally placid creek could not help but sing a few choruses of "Rollin' on the River...

Cynthia Meyer documented raging Leatherwood Creek's on Wednesday afternoon. The creek usually runs nice and slow, she observed, with barely a trickle, bringing to mind, she writes the song Charlie Rich made famous, "Keep on Rollin' with the Flow" and adds, The intermittent deluges of rainfall this afternoon Leatherwood Creek would now put you more in mind of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary".
