For Him: Sunset seen through the branches of a peachtree

By Orissa Mora-Kent

Sunset seen through the branches of a peach tree in our backyard, taken July 5, 2016.

I see the peace of God on display in His handiwork all around us, inviting us all to rest with Him - by taking a walk and having a talk with Him.

So much pulls at us during each day that it can be easy to forget that at the end of it all it's not about what we did but how we did what we did: with Jesus or without him.

God made his world so beautiful and in the ugliest situations I see it's His gift of hope to us.

Often adults appreciate a child's hand drawn picture by displaying the work on the refrigerators to show them that their creation is cherished--and when we look at the refrigerator of life...when our gaze lingers on a sunrise or sunset with awe at the broad brushstrokes, or we find a flower and admire its design, fragrance and color--that appreciation stirred in us by those sights is a feeling that speaks all the way to heaven, I think, like us smiling back up at God, cherishing Him and saying, "Thank you for giving us something beautiful for our refrigerator."

For Him,
- Orissa
