BAVFD Swift Water Rescue team rescues pickup truck driver

Driver had tried to cross rain swollen creek on Keen-Wilson Road. Rescue successful. Driver rescued uninjured. Breeding Swift Water Rescue Team, Adair EMS, Columbia Police Department, and Adair County Fire Department all responded to call

At 21:00 hours, July 4th 2016, Units from the Breeding FD Technical Rescue Team and Campbellsville Fire Rescue Special Operations Team responded to a swift water rescue call on Keen Wilson Road in Columbia.

Upon arrival, rescuers found a male victim located inside of a pickup truck who had tried to cross the swollen creek. The truck became stranded in the water. At times the water level rose to over the truck hood. Rescuers were able to launch a raft and successfully rescue the victim.


The victim was brought to the creek bank, assessed by ACEMS, no injuries were reported.

Breeding FD TRT had a total of 6 personnel to respond. CFR Special Operations had 7 personnel to respond.

Other agencies and personnel that responded were: Adair County Emergency Management, Adair County EMS, Columbia PD and Adair County VFD.

The Breeding FD TRT would like to thank all agencies who responded to this call.
