He was the son of the late Claude & Nola Aaron Grider and the widower of Alene Hale Grider, his wife of almost 69 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of almost 69 years, Alene Hale Grider on February 3, 2016. He was a farmer and carpenter, and served his country honorably in the United States Army in both World War II and Korean War. He was also a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
