Fair Schedule of Events Next earlier AC Fair Factoid: Adair County Fair Factoid II - 1868 event true forerunner By Mike Watson, Adair County Historian The first (new) fair was held in mid-August 1884. The ACAA had built an amphitheater, racecourse, music stand, judge's stand, stock barn and other essential structures, including food booths. The fair was a success and brought in many horsemen from across the state and Tennessee. Fair-goers came from all the surrounding counties and the 1884 fair is credited for a resurgence of the 'fair spirit' in the region, with several counties moving to have their own annual fairs in the years that followed.
