James "Buddy" Johnson, 62, departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2016 in Liberty, KY, at his home.

Cremation Rites for Mr. James "Buddy" Johnson were entrusted to L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

James "Buddy" Johnson, 62, the son of the late Festus Carlisle Johnson, Jr and and Margaret Louise Martin Johnson, was born June 11, 1954 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, and departed this life on Friday, June 24, 2016 in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at his home. He was 62 years, 13 days of age.

He was disabled in this life and loved hunting and fishing when his health would allow him. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter: Paula Gilpin and her companion Carl Miller, Liberty, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Justyn Gilpin and Cody Pierce, Liberty, KY

  • Two sisters: Dianna Hughes and husband Buddy and Sue Wathen, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: Joseph Johnson and wife Pim of Greensburg, KY; and Johnny Johnson and wife Lisa of Florida

  • And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Johnson Pierce.
