She was a retired school bus driver of 24 years and an industrial painter. She was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of the late Albert Henry & Betty Maxine (Cross) Lohden and the widow of the late J.P. Staples. She leaves four direct and five step living descendants.

Marilyn Faye Lohden Staples, age 71, of Glasgow, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 2pmCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY. Burial will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, in Glasgow, KY. Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, from 1pm-8pmCT, and on Sunday, June 19, 2016 after 8amCT until time of services at McMurtrey Funeral Home.

Born January 3, 1945 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Albert Henry and Betty Maxine (Cross) Lohden. She died Thursday, June 16, 2016, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 71 years, five months, and 15 days.

She was the widow of the late J.P. Staples.

She was a retired school bus driver of 24 years and an industrial painter. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Sue (Mark) Elmore, Glasgow, KY; and Charmaine (Eddie) Parsley, Glasgow, KY
  • One step daughter: Faye (Larry) Green, Glasgow, KY
  • One sister: Judy (Lonnie Wayne) Winchester, Edmonton, KY

  • One brother: Danny (Rhonda) Lohden, Edmonton, KY

  • Two grandsons: Brock and John Elmore, Glasgow, KY

  • One step-grandson: Edward Parsley, Greensburg, KY

  • Three step grand daughters: Deanna Parsley, Traci Lyn Green, and Melody (Scott) Jones

  • And several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
