55 workers pack 1,580 meals in 1.5 hours at Columbia Christian

It was an amazing show of Christian love at work. Complete meals at a cost of just 25c per meal, were portioned and packed as individual meals, placed in shipping boxes, in just over one and one-half hours, under the directions of Chase Cotten with the I.D.E.S. group of Noblesville, IN. Complete meals will be shipped to Haiti and Afghanistan. Even the littlest workers got involved by making food boxes for families in the Columbia area who might need food at times the local food panty is closed. Want to help in efforts like these? The IDES (International Disaster Emergency Service) organization out of Noblesville, IN does many things, but Saturday they were using the folks at Columbia Christian Church to pack some 15,580 meals that include rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and vitamins especially formulated to fight hunger.

These meals were recently sent to disaster areas in Afghanistan and Haiti to be distributed though churches and missionaries.

The packing was a lot of fun. Even the littlest ones got involved by making food boxes for families in our area who may need food at times the local food pantry is closed.

Thanks to all who helped and contributed the 25 cents a meal cost for us to pack. What a blessing. --tim johnson
