James Frank Bowman, Casey Co., KY (1928-2016)

He retired from Container Corporation after 34 years. He owned & operated Frank's Food Mart in Clementsville, KY for 24 years. He is a member of St. Bernard's Parish in Clementsville. He was the son of the late Ben and Anna Alvey Bowman. His wife of 65 years, Doris Clements Bowman survives. He leaves 28 direct living descendants.

James Frank Bowman,88, of Louisville, KY passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be 10amCT/11amET, Friday, May 27, 2016 at St. Bernard's Church in Clementsville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, 5075 S KY 551, Clementsville, KY. Visitation was 3pm-7pmCT/4pm-8pmET, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with prayer service at 6pmCT/7pmET.



James Frank Bowman, Casey Co., KY (1928-2016)


Born May 19, 1928 in Marion County, KY. He was one of seven children of the late Ben and Anna Alvey Bowman. He died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 88 years, five days.

He retired from Container Corporation after 34 years. He owned & operated Frank's Food Mart in Clementsville, KY for 24 years. He is a member of St. Bernard's Parish.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris Clements Bowman and the following:
  • Five children: Keith (Susan), Mark (Becky), Lisa (Greg) Mullins, Ryan (Jill), and Blair (Dana)

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Eleven great-grandchildren

  • A sister: Bernice (Gerald) Mattingly of Indianapolis, IN

  • And many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Pat (Patricia), Agnes (Buddy) Mills, Buster, Margaret (John) Jaco and JE (Cindy).
