Garva Johnson, 79, of Russell Springs, KY passed away Tuesday May 24, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Friday May 27, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY. Interment will be in the Square Oak Cemetery, Square Oak Road, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 9amCT until 1pmCT, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.


Garva Johnson, 79, Russell County, KY (1937-2016)


He was born on Tuesday January 05, 1937 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Hazel Roy Johnson and the late Osba Johnson. He died Tuesday May 24, 2016 in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 79 years, four months, and 20 days.

He attended Square Oak Separate Baptist Church.

He is survived by:
  • One daughter: Kimberly Johnson, Russell Springs, KY

  • One son: Benny Johnson, Delmont, PA

  • Five sisters: Linda Baird, Clearwater, FL; Judy Harris, Yvonne Stephens, Bonnie Perkins, and Alavene Atwood, all of Russell Springs, KY.

  • On sister in law: Mary Johnson, Russell Springs, KY

  • One grandson: Benny Johnson, Jr.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Johnson.
