Division of Waste Management Announces Grant Recipients - Program provides rubber mulch for landscaping

The grants are from the Waste Tire Trust Fund, a fund established by the 1998 Kentucky General Assembly.

It is funded by a $1 fee from each retail sale of a new tire in the state. The fund helps manage millions of scrap tires generated in Kentucky each year and helps develop markets for recycled tire products.

Recipients above, include Greensburg, Green Co. and 18 other jurisdictions listed in accompanying chart.

Division of Waste Management Announces Grant Recipients - Program provides rubber mulch for landscaping - The Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) announced on Friday, May 20, 2016, in Frankfort $249,526 in grant funding has been awarded for landscaping projects using rubber mulch manufactured from waste tires. The grants are from the Waste Tire Trust Fund, a fund established by the 1998 Kentucky General Assembly. It is funded by a $1 fee from each retail sale of a new tire in the state. The fund helps manage millions of scrap tires generated in Kentucky each year and helps develop markets for recycled tire products. Recipients above, include Greensburg, Green Co. and 18 other jurisdictions elsewhere in the Commonwealth.
