Vera Mae Carman, 77, Casey County, KY (1939-2016)

She was a member of Grove Ridge Baptist Church and a homemaker and a farmer. She was a native of Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Alma Martin Singleton; her husband, Kirby Carman, survives. She leaves 28 direct living descendants.

Vera Mae Carman, 77, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Monday, May 23, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Sunday, May 22, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and will continue Monday from 7amCT/8amET, until the funeral service.



Pallbearers will be Barry and Patrick Luttrell, Josh Hines, Anthony Snow, Kenneth Carman, Bransky Bernard and Danny Joe Carman.

Born April 5, 1939, in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Alma Martin Singleton. She died Thursday, May 19, 2016, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 77 years, one month, and 12 days. She was a homemaker and a farmer. Vera was a member of Grove Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kirby Carman of Kings Mountain, KY and the following:
  • Two daughters: Louise (and John) Hines of Mintonville, KY; and Debbie(and Gary) Luttrell of Yosemite, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Sixteen great-grandchildren

  • Three sisters: Goldie Rowland of Whiteland, IN; Lena Montgomery of Liberty, KY; and Iva Dean Patterson of Kings Mountain, KY

  • And nephew: Anthony Snow of Kings Mountain, KY
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Danny Carman; four brothers, Victor, Lloyd, Douglas, and Homer Singleton; and two sisters, Hazel Snow and Kathy Singleton.
