Mr. Darrell Boggs, Green County, KY (1931-2013)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Boggs was former manager of the old Louisville Store, and was also a security guard for Cox Interior later in life. He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force. He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded family. His wife of 59 years, Sheila Ann Howard Boggs, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Mr. Darrell Boggs, 84, of Greensburg, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Darrell Boggs will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Roger Robertson and Bro. Landon Hadley will officiate. Visitation was requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Todd Rogers, Tommy Rogers, Robert Boley, Tommy Ray Pruitt, Joshuah Boggs, and Justice Boggs.

Mr. Darrell Boggs, Green County, KY (1931-2013)


Mr. Darrell Boggs of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Astor Boggs and Sallie Riddle Boggs, was born on October 23, 1931 in Letcher County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Green County, Kentucky. He was 84 years, six months, and 16 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Boggs was former manager of the old Louisville Store, and was also a security guard for Cox Interior later in life. He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sheila Anne Howard Boggs of Greensburg having united in marriage on June 2, 1956.

Other survivors include:
  • Two sons and a daughter-in-law: Tim Boggs of Louisville, KY, and Jon and Jeanne Boggs of Florida

  • A daughter: Laurie "Bink" Gill of Campbellsville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Jordyn Boggs, Joshuah Boggs, Justice Boggs, Julianna Boggs, Jedidiah Boggs, Jubilee Boggs, Jayce Lynn Boggs all of Florida; and Amanda Boley and her husband, Robert, and Erin Reese Gill all of Campbellsville, KY

  • A great-granddaughter: Kayleigh Iris Boley of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of nieces, nephews

  • And other relatives and friends
Mr. Boggs was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild: Robert Boley, III in 2013.
