Mrs. Clarice Squires Jeffries, LaRue Co, KY; Adair Co., KY native (1933-2016)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She was also a homemaker and dairy farmer. She was the daughter of the late Caleb Levis Squires and Ollie Mae Stephens Squires and the widow of Chester Jeffries, her husband of over 52 years. She leaves three direct living descendants.

Mrs. Clarice Squires Jeffries, 93, of Hodgenville, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home. The funeral services for Clarice Squires Jeffries will be conducted at 12pmNoonCT, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Jesus Name Church, 80 Tabernacle Rd, Campbellsville, Kentucky with burial to follow in the Tabernacle Cemetery. Elder Rueal Boils, Elder Jimmie Sharp, Elder Ronnie Gowen, and Bro. James Thurman Jeffries officiating. Visitation is requested from 3pmCT until 8pmCT, Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Jesus Name Church and after 9amCT, Sunday at the Church until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Blake Jeffries, Gregory Davis, Mitchell Shaw, Michael Gowen Rodney Jeffries Jimmy Squires.

Honorary pallbearers: Jerry Squires, Larry Squires, Randall Squires, Johnny Staples, Raymond Staples, Rollin Staples, Earl Lee Squires, and Greg Cantrell.

Mrs. Clarice Squires Jeffries of Hodgenville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Caleb Levis Squires and Ollie Mae Stephens Squires, was born on April 10, 1933 in Adair County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at her home in Hodgenville, LaRue County, KY. She was 83 years, one month, and one day of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She was also a homemaker and dairy farmer.

She united in marriage to Chester Jeffries on December 26, 1953 who preceded her in death on April 15, 2006.

Survivors include:
  • A son: Terry Jeffries of Hart County, KY

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Sherry and Eric Underwood of Hodgenville, KY

  • A grandson: Ezekiel Underwood of Hodgenville, KY

  • A brother and sister-in-law: Roy and Evelyn Squires of Campbellsville, KY

  • A sister: Marie Staples of Fordsville, KY

  • A special sister-in-law: Alene Jeffries Mardis of Hodgenville, KY

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Mrs. Jeffries was also preceded in death by a daughter: Linda Diane Jeffries; four brothers and a sister: James Squires, Richard Squires, Austin Squires, Stanley Squires, and Cecil Shaw.
