Lizzie Mae Stephens age 88 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pmCT until 8pmCT, Friday, May 13, 2016, and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.

Lizzie Mae Stephens, 88, Edmonton, KY (1927-2016)

She was the daughter of the late James Payton and Dellie Lee Smith Oakes. She was born December 14, 1927. She died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 in Glasgow, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 88 years, three months, and 28 days. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Lynn Stephens and wife Mary of Glasgow, KY; and Mark Stephens of Edmonton, KY

  • Four daughters: Faye Miller and husband Wayne of Anderson, Indiana; Lori Bragg and husband Mitch of Columbia, KY; and Cheri Stephens and Melanie Amburgey both of Edmonton, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Corey Stephens, Robert (Heather) Bowman and Peyton Stephens

  • Four great grandchildren. Destiny Stephens, Hodge Stephens, Wesley Bowman and Donna Bowman.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Wheeler, Lee and Vernon Oakes, Olive Gray, Ovelia Gray, Orlena Nance and Iris Polson. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Mac Amburgey and a grandchild.
