Mark Hale: Wonders if we can rely on alcohol tax for cruisers He wonders how much revenue will actually come, and notes that not allowing Sunday sales could affect the bottom dollar Comments re article 83083 Gary Rose We already see benefits of Alcoholic Beverage Tax Click on headline for complete commentary By Mark Hale Personal Commentary Is it possible that we are counting our chickens before they are hatched? We don't know that the county will even gain $70,000 in alcohol taxes per year. The cost of the cruisers for the sheriffs department may need monies from other funds. If we did gain $70,000 in alcohol sales tax, is the sheriff's department going to get 100% of that? I believe there are other requirements for some of the income from sales. Also, not allowing sales on Sundays will affect the bottom dollar. Thank You. --Mark Hale This story was posted on 2016-05-12 07:08:33
