MSC Tournament: Columbia a hot baseball town today, tomorrow

Lindsey Wilson Baseball's MSC Tournament Opening Round series against Cumberlands moved to Thursday and Friday, April 28 & 29, 2016, to avoid weekend weather.

By Charles Balcom

COLUMBIA, KY - The Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament Opening Round three-game series between Lindsey Wilson and Cumberlands (KY) has been moved up one day to avoid incoming weekend weather.

The series now begins on Thursday, April 28, 2016 with a single game at 6pmCT, followed by a doubleheader on Friday, April 29, 2016, beginning at 1pmCT at Egnew Park, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY. Friday's second game will be "if necessary" as the series is a best two-out-of-three, with all games lasting nine innings.

The opening round series was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 29 & 30, 2016, but the forecasted weather for the Columbia area on Saturday has forced the change. The winner of the four opening round sites around the conference will advance to the four team, double-elimination tournament held at Bowling Green Ballpark beginning on May 6, 2016.
