Griffith joins the Blue Raiders after spending one season at Gulf Coast State Community College in Panama City, Florida, and will have three years of eligibility remaining. In his lone season at Gulf Coast State, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound guard played in 29 out of a possible 30 games, making 16 starts. He averaged 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game while helping the Commodores to an 18-12 record. Griffith shot 39.0 percent from the floor, and 34.8 percent from three-point range including 32 made three pointers, the fourth most on the team. Prior to attending Gulf Coast State, Griffith attended Daviess County High School in Owensboro, Kentucky. At Daviess County, the sharpshooting combo guard appeared in all 26 games as a senior in 2014-15. He led the team in scoring averaging 20.8 points per game while grabbing 3.8 rebounds per contest. Griffith led the Panthers to an 18-8 record, shooting 50.9 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent from three, and 83.1 percent from the charity stripe. "We are happy Marshall is coming back home to Kentucky," Peck said. "He had a great career at Daviess County High School and a very solid year at Gulf Coast State Community College, playing in one of the top conferences in the National Junior College Athletic Association against some of the best players in the country. "Marshall is a very strong and athletic player that can guard all three positions on the perimeter. He can shoot the ball from deep beyond the arc and will help solidify our backcourt. I cannot wait to see him in a Blue Raider uniform next season." Charles Balcom is Assistant Sports Information Director at Lindsey Wilson College This story was posted on 2016-04-27 05:32:31
