Parden and Mize sweep MSC Softball Player of the Week honors By Charlie Balcom Lindsey Wilson Senior Lyndsey Parden is the Mid-South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week and junior Bailey Mize is the MSC Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. Parden tossed 12-2/3 innings in three appearances during the week allowing just one run while picking up a pair of victories and a save. The McDonough, Georgia, native started her week with a save against Shawnee State (Ohio) as she recorded the last two outs of a 10-inning game to secure an 8-5 win for the Blue Raiders. Parden then pitched a complete game in the second game of a doubleheader against the Bears allowing one run on eight hits. She capped off the series against Shawnee State with a complete-game shutout, allowing one hit in an 8-0 victory in five innings. She is now 21-3 on the season with two saves, while lowering her ERA to 1.46. Lindsey Wilson is now 40-10 on the year and finished MSC play with a record of 25-3. Parden earns her second weekly honor of the season and third of her career. Mize hit .643 (9-for-14) to help the Blue Raiders go 4-0 to cap off their regular season last week at Shawnee State. The catcher from Knoxville, Tennessee, had multiple hits in three of her four games against Shawnee State, while driving in five runs and scoring six times. Mize concluded her week with a home run in the final game against the Bears. She earns her first player of the week honor of the season and of her career. This story was posted on 2016-04-26 08:10:36
