Sherry Shearer, 45, Adair County, KY (1970-2016)

She was a homemaker and mother, whose courage in a life too brief was an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched. She set an example of devout Christian faith never to be forgotten. She was the daughter of the late David Lee Shearer, (d. 1 Dec 2014) & Charlotte Kay Tackett Shearer (d. 3 July 2015). She leaves two direct living descendants and countless other friends and kin to cherish her legacy.

Sherry Shearer, 45, of Columbia, KY, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 9:48amCT, at her home after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Landis officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Thursday, April 28, 2016.


Casket bearers: Dean Sanford, Todd Akin, James Brown, Pat Firkin, Tyler Beddow, Keith Moore, Mike Doss and Clay Jones.

She was born Tuesday, October 6, 1970, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late David & Charlotte Tackett Shearer. She died Sunday, April 24, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 45 years, six months, and 18 days.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Stephanie (Tyler) Yates of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two sisters: Ida Shearer of Columbia & Kim (Randy) Wood of Edmonton, KY

  • One brother: Tony (Laura) Tackett of Chicago, LI

  • One grandchild: Carlee Bug

  • Special niece: Laura (Tyler) Beddow of Owensboro, KY

  • Special church family: Sparksville Baptist Church
