CES students study balance in artwork

By Calen McKinney

Campbellsville Elementary School students have been studying balance in artwork. To illustrate the concept, art teacher Adrienne Hash showed students artwork that looks balanced on both sides.

To make their own balanced artwork, students created a monoprint by spreading three colors of paint on a piece of paper and then folding it. After moving the paint around with their fingers, students opened their papers to see the paint was evenly distributed on each side. Next, students will take their monoprints and add a face to them to make monsters.
