Arrest made at scene of tragic Watson Street Fire

Fire claimed life of 41-year-old Sharon Austin of the Christine Community of Adair County. Investigation continues by Kentucky State Police Detectives.

The Columbia Police Department arrested an Adair County man at the scene of a fire on Watson Street, Columbia, KY, that took the life of a Columbia woman. The fired occurred early Sunday morning, April 3, 2016, starting at around 2:45amCT.



Wayne Harmon, 41, of Columbia was charged with possession of a controlled substance, intoxication, possession of marijuana, and disorderly conduct.

Harmon was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail in Columbia, KY.

In reference to the woman who perished in the fire, Kentucky State Police detectives are now investigating the blaze that claimed the life of 41 year old Sharon Austin, of the Christine community of Adair County.
