Mike Harris: Researchable data about violence, crime, Somerset

Response to: Jim Garner: Requests citation on claims about Somerset

By Mike Harris
Personal commentary

Jim Garner requested researchable data about violence and crimes in Somerset since they went wet.

The following links to news stories of some of the dui's in Somerset since going wet include a Southwestern High School English teacher arrested for dui, a somerset building inspector arrested for dui, a Somerset man arrested on multiple charges including dui (a woman and child in the car were not hurt), 2 men arrested for dui on lawnmowers, including one who had driven through a Hardee's drive-thru, and a Somerset police officer who was arrested for dui, which apparently cost him his career. He was arrested by a Department of Fish and Wildlife officer, who stated that the police officer was "crossing all lanes, going into the grass and shoulder on both sides of the road". The final link will take you to statistics for Somerset which states that their crime rate is 141% higher than the Kentucky mean.
