NYT story: Justice Dept. condemns profit-minded court policies Here's a link to a New York Times story, Justice Dept. Condemns Profit-Minded Court Policies Targeting the Poor. It's a story applicable to our times, when court's policies and fees make the possibility of redemption an unattainable dream, when local legislative bodies view jails as profit centers, and where parolees are prioritized for revocation depending on their presently needed "free" labor skills. Those with a more Christian viewpoint on redemption look on in dismay realizing that incarceration is in many cases, just today's slavery. They may find comfort in the story.
