KYTC closes KY 449 on 13 Mar 2016 because of fresh mudslide KY 499 was to have been closed tomorrow, 14 Mar 2016 to repair previous mudslides; now, road is closed because additional slides caused by recent rains and repair date is uncertain By Amber Hale The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has closed KY 449 tonight in Cumberland County between mile point 7 to mile point 8. Closure is due to recent rains which have caused the embankment beneath the roadway to slide. KYTC began making slide repairs last week to the area and plan to complete the repairs tomorrow, March 14, 2016. Engineers will evaluate the area to see if repairs can still be completed tomorrow and determine when the roadway will be reopened. Until roadway is reopened traffic can access KY 449 via KY 1351 to KY 90 east to KY 61 south then onto KY 449. - Amber Hale is Information Officer, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 8 - Somerset, KY Cell: 606-416-2821 This story was posted on 2016-03-13 21:54:30
