COLUMBIA, KY - No. 2-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball dropped a pair of extra-inning games to No. 15-ranked Davenport (MI) Friday night, March 11, 2016) at Lindsey Wilson Park.

The Blue Raiders (13-7) fell 3-2 in 11 innings in the opener and 3-2 in nine innings the nightcap. The doubleheader losses ended Lindsey Wilsons' 27-game home winning streak and marked the first time the Blue Raiders have lost a doubleheader at home since March 20, 2011.

GAME 1: LWC 2. Davenport 3

Davenport's Emily Maves struck out 21 Lindsey Wilson batters in a 3-2, 11-inning win in the first game between the two nationally ranked teams.

Maves (8-2) scattered six hits while surrendering two earned runs in the complete-game win.

Lindsey Wilson starter Casey Bryan (6-4) matched Maves' complete game. She allowed three runs on six hits while striking out six Panthers.

Davenport used a pair of solo home runs - one from Nicole Vitale in the fifth inning and another from Beth Stroup in the seventh.

Sandwiched between the two Davenport runs, Amy Rogers provided a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to give the Blue Raiders a brief lead.

Trailing 2-1, Stroup delivered a pinch-hit homer to tie the game and ultimately sending the game into extra innings.

Bryan and Maves exchanged zeroes until the top of the 11th inning.

Alyssa Eastman led off the inning with a walk. Sam Merren pinch ran for Eastman and scored two batters later on Vitale's RBI single for the 3-2 lead and eventual win.

Lindsey Wilson ended the game stranding 15 base runners.

GAME 2: LWC 2. Davenport 2

Davenport scored three runs in the two extra frames to beat Lindsey Wilson 3-2 in nine innings in the nighcap.

Blue Raider Lyndsey Parden and Davenport's Mallory Teunissen did not allow a run during the first seven innings of pitcher's duel.

Parden (7-2) suffered the loss allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out 10. Teunissen (6-1) allowed two runs -- one earned -- on five hits en route to the win.

Eastman deposited a 0-2, two-out pitch over the left field fence to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the top of the eighth. The second game utilized the International Tiebreaker Rule.

Amber Foukes provided the big hit for the Blue Raiders in the bottom of the eighth. She blasted a RBI triple to the right-field fence and scored on an overthrow to third to tie the game at 2-2. The Blue Raiders squandered a chance to win the game in the inning, leaving the bases loaded. Lindsey Wilson left eight runners on base in the game.
