Lindsey Wilson's Grabara sits atop leaderboard for Men's Golf after opening round at Battle of the Beach Tournament

MURRELLS INLET, SC - Jonathon Grabara fired a 1-under par 71 to sit alone atop the leaderboard following the opening round of competition at the Battle of the Beach Tournament, hosted by Tiffin (Ohio) University at TPC Myrtle Beach.

The senior is one stroke ahead of second place and was the lone golfer to go under par on the par-72, 6,754-yard course.



As a team, the Lindsey Wilson men's program carded a 28-over 316 on the first day of competition to sit in seventh place in the 11-team field comprised mostly of NCAA competitors. The Blue Raiders sit 20 strokes behind the current leader Queens-Charlotte (NC) and just 10 strokes behind second place Tiffin heading into the second and final round of the tournament on Saturday.

Ryan Nowe and Jordan Hagan both carded 9-over par 81s to sit in a tie for 36th place in the 63-man field. Chris Butler and Federico Navarro sit two strokes behind them in a tie for 44th place after shooting 11-over 83s.
