Margaret Dean Williams, Green Co., KY (1931-2016)

Mrs. Williams had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. She had a love for flowers and was a beautician for sixty-three years. She operated her own beauty shop; Margaret Dean's Beauty Shop and was also employed at Green County Beauty Shop. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Maude Perkins Dobson and the widow of Elmore Durrett Williams.

Margaret Dean Williams of the Summersville Community of Green County, KY, departed this life March 1, 2016 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill Manor, Greensburg, KY.

The funeral service was at 10amCT, Friday, March 4, 2016 Hodges Chapel Methodist Church in the Summersville Community of Green County, KY. Visitation was 4pm-8pmCT, Thursday and after 7amCT, Friday morning at the Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. Rev. Meryl Young was the officiating minister. Interment is in Green County Memory Garden, Summersville, KY.



Pallbearers: Kay Gupton, Savona Edwards, Josh Rogers, Kayla R. Daniels, Blake Edwards, Cody Gupton, Mike Daniels, Gerald F. Gupton, and Richard A. Edwards.

Margaret Dean Williams, Green Co., KY (1931-2016)

Margaret Dean Williams of the Summersville Community was born December 18, 1931 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Maude Perkins Dobson. She departed this life March 1, 2016, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, having attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Mrs. Williams had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. She had a love for flowers and was a beautician for sixty-three years. She operated her own beauty shop; Margaret Dean's Beauty Shop and was also employed at Green County Beauty Shop.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmore Durrett Williams on September 6, 2004. She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and sons-in-law: Kay Williams Gupton and husband Gerald F. Gupton, Savona Williams Edwards and husband Richard, all of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Josh Rogers, Kayla R. Daniels and her husband Mike, Blake A. Edwards and Cody A. Gupton

  • Two great grandchildren: Margaret Kay Daniels and Cale Daniels

  • Four aunts: Opal and John Miller of Springfield, IL; Katherine and Jim Smith of Waggoner, Illinois; Mabel and Barry Martin of Williamsburg, VA; and Erna Wheat Sidebottom of Greensburg, KY

  • Four sisters-in-law: Louise Foster of Bonita Springs, FL; Mary Jean and Bill Eaton of Louisville, KY; Virginia Williams of Buffalo, KY; and Peggy Monson of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother-in-law: Dr. Bill and Diane Williams of Lexington, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. These can be made at the church or at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
