Roy Clifton Norris, 70, Marrowbone, KY (1945-2016)

He was a former trooper with the Kentucky State Police retiring in 1988 after 21 years of service. He will be accorded honors at committal services by the Kentucky State Police Honor Guard. He was the partriarch of a large, highly regarded family, with descendants in Adair and Cumberland Counties. He was the son of the late Charlie B. and Jewell Bean Norris. He was the widower of Sandra Norris. He leaves eight direct and three step living descendants to carry on his legacy. He was the former owner of Norris Mobile Home Transporting, and was a life long farmer.

Roy Clifton Norris, age 70 of Marrowbone, KY passed away on Thursday, March 03, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 06, 2016 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with burial in Marrowbone Cemetery with honors presented by the Kentucky State Police Honor Guard. Family requests visitation on Saturday, March 05, 2016 from 5pmCT until 9pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Roy Clifton Norris, 70, Marrowbone, KY (1945-2016)


He was born on Thursday, September 27, 1945 in Barren County, KY. He was the son of the late Charlie B. and Jewell Bean Norris. He died Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 70 years, five months, and five days.

He was a former trooper with the Kentucky State Police retiring in 1988 after 21 years of service. He also was the former owner of Norris Mobile Home Transporting, and was a life long farmer.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Norris, and two brothers, Floyd Norris and Harry Norris.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Sandy McKinney and her husband Roger of Breeding, KY; and Sherry Spoon of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Carl Norris and his wife Myra of Burkesville, KY

  • Two sisters: Linda Norris and her husband Troy and Teresa Garner all of Burkesville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Cara Gibson and her husband Brian, Casey McKinney, Katie Spoon, and Jake Spoon

  • One step grandchild: Courtney Loy.

  • Two great grandchildren: Addison Gibson and Mollie Gibson

  • Three step great grandchildren: Bryson Loy, Zach Gibson, and Braxton McKinney

  • and a host of other relatives and friends also survive
