Broken Telephone Pole repair necessitates traffic change at CES High winds suspected to be a factor. Part of the back CES parking lot has been blocked to make sure no one goes near the pole. When picking up their children this afternoon, parents should expect a different traffic pattern than normal. - CALEN McKINNEY By Calen McKinney Campbellsville Elementary School traffic will be re-routed this afternoon because of a broken telephone pole on the campus. Campbellsville Police and Campbellsville Fire & Rescue were called this morning, Monday, February 29, 2016, to help block traffic as parents were dropping off their children at school. KU officials are on the scene and working to replace the pole. Work is expected to continue throughout the day and into the evening. While it isn't known yet why the pole has broken, it is believed high winds might have been a factor. Power has remained on at CES, and isn’t expected to be interrupted, and no injuries have been reported. Part of the back CES parking lot has been blocked to make sure no one goes near the pole. When picking up their children this afternoon, parents should expect a different traffic pattern than normal. CES officials ask that parents be patient this as they come to the school, and watch for police officers and others who will be directing traffic. For more information, call the CES office at 270-465-4561. Calen McKinney is Public Information Officer for the Campbellsville Independent School System This story was posted on 2016-02-29 09:36:40
