Seven LWC Track & Field members headed to Nationals By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY (Fri 26 Feb 2016) - Seven members of the Lindsey Wilson College's indoor track & field program are headed to Johnson City, TN., as the 2016 NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field National Championship qualifiers have been announced by the national office. Ben Graham, Kevin Hallmon, Austin Hayes, Dante Johnson, Anthony Thompson and John-Paul Williamson will represent the men's team, while Kimberley Stevens is the lone representative from the women's squad. Williamson is the lone Blue Raider scheduled to compete in multiple events as he recorded the eighth fastest time in the NAIA this year in the one mile run, and the sixth fastest time in the 3,000 meter run. Graham matches Williamson for the highest men's qualifier as he also had the sixth fastest time in the 3,000 meter race walk. Both Williamson and Graham previously achieved NAIA All-American status, Williamson earning it last year in the mile run while Graham earned it in 2014 in the 3,000 meter race walk. Stevens posted the highest qualification as she recorded the second-best distance in the triple jump this season, reaching a distance of 11.90 meters. Thompson qualified 10th in the triple jump, Johnson is 12th in the 60 meter hurdles, Hayes is 12th in the 200 meter dash, and Hallmon is 24th in the 60 meter dash. Over 140 institutions are scheduled to send student-athletes to the competition on March 3. This story was posted on 2016-02-27 03:17:18
