Driver airlifted to UK following one vehicle accident on Bypass

Eye witnesses report, southbound vehicle exited Adair County Veterans Memorial Highway - the Bypass - travel 450 feet, overturning several times.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2015 at approximately 7pmCT, Adair County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Hitch was dispatched to a single vehicle injury accident located on the Veteran's Memorial Bypass.



According to witnesses, 32 year old Jessie Yike of Columbia, KY, was operating a 2004 Ford Mustang in the city limits of Columbia south bound on the Veteran's Memorial Bypass.

Witnesses stated Yike traveled across the northbound lane, then exited the roadway, traveling approximately 450 feet, overturning several times.

Yike was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to TJ Sampson Hospital and was later airlifted to UK Medical Center.

Deputy Brandon Hitch was assisted on scene by Deputy Joey Keith and officers of Columbia Police Department.
