It is very possible this system could bring similar conditions to the District 3 area.

Crews have prepped the roadways as best they can this morning when the weaker system moved through. Roadways are clear now, but that could change in the next couple of hours. Motorists could have clear roads now, but conditions could rapidly change during the drive.

Only time will tell what the system will bring. Even just slushy conditions could be an issue.

Motorists should be aware of how slush presents a varied set of driving challenges. Slow down. Thick slush can quickly pull a vehicle away from the intended driving path. Lighter vehicles are at higher risk than heavy vehicles, especially on interstates and parkways.

Speed amplifies the effect. Larger vehicles can also track and throw slush, creating immediate loss of visibility for motorists in nearby vehicles.

Allow plenty of distance for recovery. Just as drivers in smaller/lighter vehicles need to be considerate of space and stopping distances needed for larger/heavier vehicles, drivers in larger/heavier vehicles should be aware of how their "wake" can affect smaller/lighter vehicles.

The National Weather Service is predicting 3 to 5 inches of snow for the District 3 area. The snow is expected to late tonight.
