I-65 Travel Advisory - SB MP 74 near Hart/LaRue County Line

Motorists advised to avoid area of overtuned semi. Right lane be closed by 12:30pmCT/1:30pmET with an anticipated 4-5 hours for offloading the trailer.

By Wes Watt, Public Information Officer
KY Transportation Cabinet, District 3. Bowling Green, kY

Crews will be working to remove an overturned semi near Mile Point 74. The crash occurred early this morning but with weather conditions and concerns for secondary crash potential, KYTC and KSP/KVE decided to tape the area off and request wreckers not block any lanes for removal until snow ended.

The right lane will be closed by 12:30pmCT/1:30pmET. We anticipate 4-5 hours for offloading the trailer. After offloading is complete, a detour will be set up at Exit 76 to Exit 71 so that crews may block all Southbound lanes to remove the vehicle. We anticipate an additional 1-2 hours for removal.

Significant traffic backup is expected on Southbound I65 during this process. Motorists are encouraged to consider alternate routes. Updates will be posted. Thanks, Wes Watt Public Information Officer District 3 - Bowling Green
