She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in Louisville. She was a retired seamstress. She was the daughter of the lat4eH.B. Philpott & Vera Isaacs Philpott, and the widow of thelate Robert "Pat" Burress, her husband of over 30 years. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Christine Burress, 89, of Campbellsville, KY died at 6:47pmCT, Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Louisville, KY. .

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. James Jones. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET,Friday, February 12, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Christine Burress, 89, Taylor Co., KY (1926-2016)


Christine Burress of Campbellsville, KY, was the daughter of the late H. B. Philpott and Verna Isaacs Philpott. She was born August 3, 1926 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at thea ge of 89 years, six months, and seven days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in Louisville.

She was a retired seamstress.

She united in marriage to Robert "Pat" Burress July 30, 1949. He preceded her in death March 9, 1981.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter and one son: Robert L. Burress and wife, Patricia of Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Cathy Decker and husband, Bill of Louisville, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Melissa Thomas and husband, Randy of Piedmont, South Carolina, and Kristin Decker of Louisville, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: Megan Kramer and Stephen Thomas

  • One sister: Catherine Kearney of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Terri Michelle Burress; one great-grandson, Zachary Vaughn and three brothers: Oscar Philpott, Clyde Philpott and Manuel Philpott.

Expressions of sympathy requested to be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
