KYTC District 4 - Road Conditions Update: 7amET 12 Feb 2016

By Chris Jessie, Public Information Officer
KYTC District 4: Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor and Washington counties

Crews are out spot treating this morning with another light coating of snow. Most primary routes are wet. Residual salt from earlier in the week is effectively preventing snow from bonding to pavement surfaces. Still, heavier snow showers will continue to quickly cover primary routes for short periods.

Many secondary routes are coated. It may take additional time for these roads to clear.

Motorists are advised to be prepared for quickly changing conditions. Allow additional travel time to arrive at your destination. In many situations, lighter snows yield more severe crashes than heavy snows due to overconfident driving. Slow down.

Travel advisories are available for state-maintained routes in Breckinridge, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor and Washington counties on our District 4 Facebook page: http://facebook.com/kytcd4 . Login is not required to view the page. Crash and road blockage information can be found at. http://511.ky.gov .
