District 3 crews on road again fighting Winter Weather -

District 3 Road Condition 5 am Update

By Wes Watts, KYTC District 3 District 3 serves KTC District 3 includes Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, Warren Counties in Kentucky.

BOWLING GREEN, KY - (Fri 12 Feb 2016) - - A winter storm began moving into counties in the District 3 area early this morning. Crews have been out patrolling since around 3 am. Heavy snowfall is being reported in the western counties in the District such as Logan, Simpson and Warren Counties. Roads are partially covered in some of these areas, but salting operations are removing the snow quickly.

Most roads are wet with some spotty coverage of snow. Interstate 65 in Simpson County is showing some coverage, but crews are working. If the heavy snow continues roads could worsen. Motorists need to allow extra time and use caution during their morning commute. Please slowdown and allow extra space between vehicles.

There are some great KYTC resources and tools available to keep folks informed about road conditions. The District 3 Facebook and Twitter account will be updated regularly with the most up-to-date information.
