Emma Jean Grider, 65, Casey County, KY (1950-2016)

Emma Jean Grider was a Kentucky Colonel and she loved auctions. Emma worked in the florist industry for over 30 years in Casey County. She adored her grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late George & Oma Crew Wilson and the widow of Vernon Grider, Jr. She leaves eight direct living descendants.

Emma Jean Grider, 65, passed was Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, TN.

Funeral services are 10amCT/11amET, Monday, February 15, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Contown Cemetery. Visitation is 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the funeral home.


Emma Jean Grider, 65, Casey County, KY (1950-2016)


Born November 25, 1950 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late George and Oma Crew Wilson. She died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Tullahoma, TN, at the age of 65 years, two mnths, and 16 days.

Emma was a KY Colonel and she loved auctions. Emma worked in the florist industry for over 30 years in Casey County. She adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include the following:
  • A son: Garry Grider of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughter: Candrea (and Rob) Wilson of Stanford, KY; and Loretta Lynn of Hustonville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Ashley Hogue, Ethan Whited, Emily Lou Grider, and Justin and Cody Lynn

  • And a sister: Clara Justice of Stanford, KY
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Grider, Jr., who passed away February 5, 2014; and a son, Timothy George Grider.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
