Edith Sue Jackson Jones, 68,Tompkinsville, KY (1947-2016)

She was a CNA at NHC in Glasgow and of the Baptist Faith. She was a daughter of the late Rene (Wisdom) and Riley Jackson and the widow of the late Louie Jones. She died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the age of 68 years, two months, and 19 days. She leaves 15 direct and one step descendants.

Edith Sue Jackson Jones, age 68, of Tompkinsville, KY, died Sunday, January 31, 2016, at her daughters residence.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at 11amCT, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Tim White officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 1pm-8pmCT, and on Wednesday, after 7amCT, until time of services.

Born November 12, 1947 in Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Rene (Wisdom) and Riley Jackson and the widow of the late Louie Jones. She died Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the age of 68 years, two months, and 19 days.

She was a CNA at NHC in Glasgow and of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include the following:
  • One daughter: Debbie (Buddy) Gentry, Summer Shade, KY

  • Two sons: Franklin (Christy) Jones, Tompkinsville, KY; and Ricky (Tammy) Jones, Tompkinsville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Jacob Jones, Josh, Austin and Kirsten Jones, Neil Lawson, Brandi Lawson, Nicole Gentry, Frank Jones, and Ricky Allen Jones

  • One step grand child: Casey Lawson

  • Two great grandchildren: Hailey Lawson and Holden Cary

  • And one brother: Phillip (Mae) Jackson, Scottsville, KY
She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Dewayne Jones; and two sisters, Maxine Lemmons and Evelin Gore, and two brothers, Richard Wisdom and Paul Houchens Jr.

Memorials may be made to the Summer Shade Fire Department or the Brown Cemetery, and may be left at the funeral home.
