Lorie Ann Coomer, 52 of Columbia, KY formerly of Liberty, KY passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:14 PM as the result of an explosion and fire at her home on M. Coomer Road, Columbia, KY.

A joint memorial service for Lorie Rodgers Coomer, Mitchell Coomer, Kinley Rodgers and Steven Aaron Keltner will be Monday, February 1, 2016 at 7pmCT, at 3trees Church, 3515 Russell Springs Road, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will begin after 3pmCT, Monday at 3trees Church. A joint celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11amCT at 3trees Church. Cremation has been chosen.



Lorie Ann Coomer, 52, Adair Co., KY formerly of Casey Co., KY (1963-2016)


Lorie Ann Coomer, was born July 9, 1963 in Ft. Myers, Florida the daughter of the late Charles Sikes and Mary Ann James, who survives. She passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 26, 2016 as the result of an explosion and fire at her home on M. Coomer Road, Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky, at the age of 52 years, six months, and 17 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew Rodgers in 2009 and later married Mitchell Coomer of Columbia. Lorie was involved in the Triple C Drilling Company in Columbia, KY and the Kentuckiana Truck Pullers Association.

Lorie and her husband Mitchell and her granddaughter Kinley Rodgers departed this life together January 26, 2016.

Survivors include her mother Mary Ann James of Liberty, KY and the following:
  • One daughter: Heather Rodgers of Lexington, KY

  • One son: Joshua Rodgers and wife Ashley of Liberty, KY

  • One granddaughter: Lakkin Rodgers of Liberty, KY

  • Four brothers: Charles R. Sikes of Paducah, KY; Darrin James of Liberty, KY; C.W. Sikes of Alva, FL; and Robert James of Purdy, MO

  • Five sisters: Tammy Thomas of Tazewell, TN; Tina Whidden of Kirbyville, TX; Tracy Bradley of Danville, KY; Melissa James of Purdy, MO; and Kimberly Dillion of Alva, FL

  • Twenty-nine nieces and nephews

  • and eighteen great nieces and nephews
