He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was a past Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was the son of Addie V. Miller Wood, who survives, and the late ulis J. Wood. He leaves six direct living descendants.

Michael J. Wood, 61, departed this life Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be at, Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 11amCT, Monday, February 1, 2016. Ministers will be Rev. James Jackson, Master of Ceremony and Rev. Matt Smyzer, Jr., Eulogy. Visitation and wake will be after 9amCT, Monday, February 1, 2016, until the funeral hour. Interment will be in Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY, with Military Honors.



Pallbearers: Kobie Wood, Brooks Wood, Terrill Williams, Michael Carter, Earl Barnett, and Trae Wood.

Honorary Pallbearers: Donnie Williams, Sonny Shively, John Thompson, Larry Compton, and Polley Williams

Michael J. Wood was born December 3, 1954 in Green County, KY. He was the son of Addie V. Miller Wood of Greensburg, KY, and the late Ulis J. Wood. He departed this life Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, having attained the age of 72 years, one month and 24 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was a past Sunday School Superintendent and sang in the choir. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by one son, Jamaal Wood.

He is survived by the following:
  • His mother: Addie Miller Wood of Greensburg, KY

  • One son: Tobey Wood of Greensburg, KY

  • One daughter: Faun Crenshaw of Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister: Jacqueline Wood of Grand Prairie, TX

  • One brother: Tyler Wood of Grand Prairie, TX

  • Four grandchildren: Kobie, Brooks and Skylar Wood and Keeley Crenshaw

  • And a friend: Mary Sebastian Wood

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
