Phillip was of the Baptist faith and a roofer in the Chicago area for 19 years. He was a native of Oak Park, IL, and a resident of Columbia, KY,at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Charles and Linda Darnell Cooper. He leaves two direct living descendants.

Phillip Cooper, 52 of Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:15pmET, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY after a sudden illness.

Funeral service: Monday, February 1, 2016 at 12 noon at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Rev. Ricky Page the officiating clergy. Interment in the McClister Cemetery, 4138 Fairplay Road, Fairplay, KY. The family request visitation after 4:30pmCT, Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home/

He was born January 5, 1964 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late Charles and Linda Darnell Cooper. He died Thursday, January 28, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 52 years, 23 days.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son: Phillip Charles Cooper of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Laurie Cooper of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Teresa Cooper and Deanna Cooper both of Columbia, KY

  • Several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Phillip was of the Baptist faith and a roofer in the Chicago area for 19 years.
