Imogene Yates of Campbellsville, KY died at 3:37pmET Monday, January 25, 2016 in Campbellsville at age 85.

The funeral service was at 9amCT/10amET Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Dannie Nelson. Burial was in Old St. Francis of DeSales Catholic Church Cemetery.



Imogene Proffitt Yates, Campbellsville, KY (1930-2016)


Imogene Yates was the daughter of the late James William Proffitt, Sr. and Melinda Fore Proffitt. She was born March 22, 1930, in Knox County, Kentucky. She died January 25, 2016 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at age 85 years, 10 months, and three days.


She united in marriage to Clayton Yates, who preceded her in death May 28, 2000.

She is survived by
  • One son and three daughters: Phillip Yates and wife, Chris and Norma Newton of Campbellsville, Sherry Cecil and husband, Greg of Franklin and Jewell Murray and husband, Lindsey of Georgetown;

  • Ten grandchildren: Amy Vibbert of Lexington, Jennifer Murray of North Vernon, Indiana, Michelle Fisher, Erica Wheatley and Ronnie Murray of Campbellsville, Michael Hovious of Lebanon, Chris Hovious of Louisville, Chad Haynes of Auburn, Kentucky, Paige Cecil of Franklin and Crystal Ducker of Georgetown;

  • Several great-grandchildren;

  • One brother, J. W. Proffitt and wife, Viola of Lexington;

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and five sisters: Vernon Proffitt, Robert Proffitt, Bessie Roberts, Stacey Johnes, Effie Messer, Marclee Johnson and Rebecca Edmonson.
