Mary Frances Sneed, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016, in Oxford, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET Friday, January 29, 2016, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, Ky, with Bro. Joseph Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethelridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11amCT/12pmNoonET, until time of funeral services at the funeral home.



Mary Frances Sneed, 91, Casey Co., KY (1924-2016)

Born March 20, 1924, in Casey County, KY. She was a daughter of the late Everett and Vida Godbey Godbey. She died Sunday, January 24, 2016, in Oxford, Ohio, at the age of years, 10 months, and four days.

Mrs. Sneed was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Elger Sneed, who passed away on December 28, 1985. Survivors include:
  • Her sons: Alvie (Alice) Sneed and Raymond (Darlene) Sneed, both of Goshen, OH; Edgar Dean (Mary K.) Sneed of Yosemite, KY; Russell (Zelda) Sneed, Gerald (Gloria) Sneed, and David Sneed, all of Waynesburg, KY; and Kenneth (Linda) Sneed of Stanford, KY

  • Daughters: Ollie (Dave) Tackett of Oxford, Ohio; and Brenda Carmen and Judy (Sam) Allen, both of Waynesburg, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Brenda Sneed of Goshen, Ohio

  • Step-children: Edna (Don) Atwood of Danville, KY; Eugene (Francis) Sneed of Franklin, IN; Betty Salyers of Liberty, KY; and Ella Fayrene McAninch of Yosemite, KY

  • Siblings: Quilla Roberts of Pulaski County, KY; and David and Ollie Godbey, both of Lockland, Ohio

  • Numerous grandchildren

  • And numerous great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Elger Sneed, Jr.; step-children, Edward Sneed and Elvera Salyers; and siblings, Guston and Edgar Godbey and Nanny Parton.
