Despite warehouse roof collapse, S. Central Printing will be open

By Ralph Waggener, President, South Central Printing

South Central Printing, 426 Wain Street, Columbia, KY, will be open Monday, January 25, 2016, despite winterstorm damage to our warehouse.

We have cleared our parking lots somewhat and despite not much clearing on Wain St. it is packed down and passable. We had one of our warehouses roof collapse.

Thankfully it was one we only store equipment in and we don’t use often, and a lot of furniture and odd tools and a lot, we moved from our old home.

As Doug was cleaning the sidewalks Saturday he told me he could smell natural gas and we called Columbia Gas Department. The man from the gas department first could not smell anything, but as we walked to the corner of the old church building we got a whiff of natural gas.

I look up and saw what I thought was the gutter on the warehouse sticking straight up and then I notice no roof. The walls are leaning out on two sides but still standing.

One of the gutters on the old church building fell from the weight of ice on it. We will be operational Monday, January 25, if our employees can get here.

Glinda Doug and I will be here because we live here. - Ralph Roy Waggener
