Weather reminds Sharon Whitehurst of Vermont life By Sharon Whitehurst I appreciate Guy's common sense and perspective. Jim and I grew up in Vermont, and for a decade ran a dairy farm there. Winter threw the 'works' at us from November into early April - a long span of cold, deep snow, freezing weather and a dirt road as access for the bulk milk collector. Winter can be both worrisome and wearisome - not much point in grumbling. Sensible rural dwellers prepare with a well-stocked pantry and supplies on hand to care for animals.
