CJE Mike Stephens declares State of Emergency in Adair Co, KY Adair County has entered a verbal declaration of a local state of emergency as of 2:30PM CT, Sat 22 Jan 2016: ADAIR COUNTY DECLARATION OF A LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY January 22nd, 2016 WHEREAS, on January 22nd 2016 a significant winter storm including heavy snow, bitter temperatures, wind, freezing rain / ice, occurred in Adair County, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, emergency snow removal is required to have roadways open for emergency vehicles; and WHEREAS, this situation creates a considerable hardship for the citizens of Adair County; and WHEREAS, local government has the responsibility to protect the public health, safety and welfare, and to mitigate the effects of such events. NOW, THEREFORE, I Michael Lee Stephens, County Judge Executive, by the authority vested in me by KRS 39A.100(2), do hereby declare that a State of Emergency exists in Adair County for the period of one week, and direct that:
