District 8 crews try to clear roadways across the region by Amber Hale Information Officer, KY Transportation Cabinet District 8 - Somerset Crews are focusing on only plowing routes at this time due to the amount and the rate that snow is falling. Precipitation is falling at such high rates that crews are having trouble keeping lanes cleared once they have been plowed. Visibility is also an issue our drivers are facing. Clinton and McCreary County crews are still working on clearing downed trees. Motorist are still advised to avoid travel if possible. Numerous vehicles are being reported stuck across the district and currently I-75 in Rockcastle County is blocked both north and south bound at mile marker 56.
