Mayor Hardwick: Road department will get roads cleared

Mayor Curtis Hardwick asks the understanding of citizens while the Street Department times the most effective plan to clear City streets. "Right now," he said at 8:30amCT, Friday morning, "they're fighting a losing battle. They've plowed some high use streets twice this morning," and they are already covered with snow again."

He's told Street Department employees to wait awhile to time work when it will be more effective. "They've treated the streets," he said, "and the salt will be doing its work, and they'll be out later today and tomorrow to have streets clear as soon as possible."

"It is dangerous out there," he said. " I urge everyone to stay off the roads if at all possible. stay at home, and be safe."
